Founded in 1990, Community Public Broadcasting became the Oregon Coast's first Rural Cable Television Network dedicated to the Production and Broadcast of local Government, Education and Community Event Programming. In July of this Year The CPB Engineering Staff Completed the Interactive... Internet Television Network bringing a state of the art communications technology package with complete Multi-Media Website Production and Video Streaming Host Service reaching all of rural Oregon. Beginning September CPB will offer remote operations and technical support services from our Regional Studios in Florence and Rockaway Beach. CPB engineers have created a custom program that can be adapted to meet specific client requirements and used for local government video production/confrencing, distance learning and home based health care delivery applications.
The Community Public Broadcasting Rural Technology Development Program and Rural Education Resource Network are grant funded partnerships CPB created to provide indepth local needs assesments and resource surveys to assure all technology investments meet the community's long term economic and employment development goals. CPB staff has worked with some of the country's leading technology experts, names like Microsoft, Polycom, Logitech and Sony so our programs will educate and provide the qualified work force that will be needed to rebuild the country's manufacturing, industrial and aggriculture base. Over the years Wall Street investment banks have built their profit centers through the sell off of our industrial infastructure and use of cheap forced labor found in nondemocratic foreign countries like China and Iraq.
Community Public Broadcasting staff along with a group of volunteers from all professions and areas of the Pacific Northwest have spent over 7 years working to find solutions that will restore rural communities to the economic viability they enjoyed from the end of World War II though the end of Regans first term in office when the first wave of deregulation began the beggining of the end for rural America.
With the launch of The Boomer Nation.Org website and The Boomer Nation TV channel we hope to provide a resouce for the senior and disabled citizens to find a common voice and goals for what we leave as a legacy for future generations. The Internet and the new Communication Technologies are the vehicle we will use to acomplish our goals. We invite you to join in this effort. Share your opinions, time and talent. Only by working together can we change the things that must be changed and return our country to the people.
