Community Public Broadcasting board member and Managing Editor, Joel Gallob, leads this presentation and forum on the current state of media law and it's impact on our digital futures. Joel practiced Law for 12 years prior to becoming a professional journalist, present's an overview of the legal issues that are now, or soon to be, part of our digital future history. How is our evolution into a digital judicial system going to translate into our day to day lives will be explored. Leon Forrest, Recording Artist and Producer, reviews the current state of copyright law and the challenges our society's relationship with cyber space and the digital lifestyle is presenting the legal profession, entire industries and the artist who's work the law is suppose to protect. As the music and recording industries expirience revolutionary changes, is working it's way through the system, along with everything else legal and remotely connected to the term communication. Joel and Leon will then lead a discussion on how our digital life is impacting the system and the law, the people who try to live by it and the people who don't, what we can do or not do, to secure our digital futures for our digital lives.

Building jobs for Oregon through creation of the Community Public Broadcasting, engineer trained and staffed “Technical Support and Operations Center”. A regional full service Support and Operations Facility where the centers staff learn about the individual communities located in the geographic areas staff are being trained to serve. Operations Center staff work with local residents along with community and business leaders to identify their local resources and create an up to date regional needs assesment. Strategies that use the current and new Internet based technologies then create long term economic and employment development projects designed to meet the challenges presented by a specific geographic location so rural communities can build thier share of our global market place.
